Welcome to the School of Mission

We have a vision for the School of Mission UK, we long to see every Christian confident and comfortable in sharing their faith, in deeds and words, lovingly, wisely, compassionately & courageously, living as Spirit-led-catalysts to change this nation embodying the love of Christ.

We launched on the 18th May 2019 at the River of Life Church, in Hartcliffe in Bristol, here Andy Mason writes about it...

Andy Mason

Andy is married to Allana and they have a daughter and have recently moved back to Poole in Dorset, prior to that Andy was a Pioneer Minister in Kingswood and Hanham (Bristol) and was involved in setting up Street Pastors and planted a Church by the edge of a skate park (despite being totally unable to skate!) Before coming to Kingswood he was a curate in Salisbury, trained at St. John's Nottingham, and was a Youth/Schools worker in Poole, York and Wakefield. He loves films, books, beer and hanging out with his family.

Jackie Leswell

Jackie is a former Salvation Army Officer in Poole, also has been involved with the Freedom in Christ Course and with the work of Redeeming Our Communities. She chaired Churches Together in Poole for a number of years and worked with Faithworks Wessex, she started Town Pastors in Poole and was part of the Vineyard Church in Bournemouth, she has now moved back to Norfolk where she is beginning to get involved.

Mark Rich

Mark has lived in Bristol nearly all of his life, he is part of the leadership team of the River of Life Church in Hartcliffe, he was also heavily involved with the planting of Kingswood Street Pastors and even on one occasion had to take the Archbishop of Canterbury under his wing. He is a very gifted speaker and the least boring accountant you are ever likely to meet!

Chris Harwood

Chris is an ordained Anglican Pioneer Minister working in Carlisle, before that he worked in Poole in Dorset for a Fresh Expression called Reconnect and a large Anglican Church in the town centre. Chris is passionate about justice and compassion, and once nearly got arrested for sitting in front of a tank at an arms fayre he was picketing. Chris trained at Trinity College Bristol and before ordination he was a detached youth worker. Chris was the first member of the youth parliament to be elected in the UK.

Bournemouth: Could you be 1 one the 10?

We are looking for 10 people from the conurbation to do some outreach promoting "Big Idea Church" http://www.brightideachurch.com/ on Saturday Morning on the 6th July, if this is you (or maybe you know someone) then do contact me on vicaratlarge@hotmail.co.uk for a place on our Friday training where Dave Pegg from Big Idea will share something of the vision and ethos of Big Idea Church and their outreach.

7:30, 6th July, (St. Andrew's Bennett Road) Church Centre, 123 Shelbourne Road, BH8 8RD, Bournemouth Launch of the School of Mission (an evening conference), with speakers including John Good (a Pioneer Baptist Minister working in the new housing development in Hamworthy) and Hilary Bond Curate in Upton and Schools Worker in Wareham. In addition to this, Andy will be sharing about the forth coming "field-trip/mission tour" from Cornwall to Carlisle.

Just throwing a bit of an idea out there, my friend Dave Pegg has launched this Church "Bright Idea Church" and wanting to help him with a bit of Street Outreach on Saturday 6th July (also got some kids dance school dancing in the square too), wondered if anyone was up for helping with this...

We are hoping to do a training session the night before in Friday 5th July (venue TBC, somewhere in Bmth), in the evening we are going to do a shortened version of the launch of the School of Mission we did in Bristol (again venue in Bmth)...

And join Dave and his guys on Sunday Morning -7th July, (I'm sure too, we might be able to get spectators to join the Town Pastors too if people want to get involved with something practical to show Jesus' love in a positive and practical way...

Also, if interested, going to Exeter to join with the launch of a new missional course " Living and telling" on Monday and Tuesday, the 8th and 9th.
